Published multibeam bathymetry processed data archived at PANGAEA (without moratorium period) are visualized and bathymetry (raster image with a haxby scale from 0-5000m water depth, hillshade with an azimuth of 315° and at an altitude of 45° shading) calculated by using gdal (GDAL/OGR contributors (2021). Each incorporated PANGAEA dataset in this service contains a vast amount of individual dataset-specific metadata. If you consider embedding this service (data layers) into any frontend application (e.g., a web-based data portal), please also make the incorporated metadata of each layer available and visible to the user.
To further reuse the meta(data) visible here, please always check and use the corresponding data publication for further meta(data) info (e.g. dataset abstract, other related references, ancillary data, etc.). All visible data of this service must be cited properly via the given citation and the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) provided in the metadata field “citation”. In addition, please always refer to the PANGAEA Bathymetry Web Map Service (+ address
Note, that prcessed data from each publication may differ in quality. Due to new technical developments at PANGAEA not all multibeam bathymetry processed data archived in PANGAEA are visible through this service. The amount of included datasets will be continuously increased. These data shall not be used for navigational purposes. Further information on the usage of data can be found in the PANGAEA Terms of Use
